Ammonite Audio Modular CNC-Machined Armboards for Technics SL-1200 Turntables
Now available from the shop – our new Ammonite Audio CNC-machined modular arm boards for Technics SL-1200 turntables, including old SL-1200/1210s as well as the new SL-1200GAE, SL-1200G and SL-1200GR. Our armboards are not suitable for any SL-1200 model prior to the Mk2, and will not fit the current SL-1200 Mk7, nor SL-1500C.
The armboards are available with centre plates to suit 9″ Jelco and SME tonearms, as well as a selection of plates cut for other arms that we know will work, such as Rega, FR-64S, Schick 9″, Reed IH, Linn and a few more, or uncut for customers to fit other arms. The centre plates are deliberately sunk as far as practicable to ensure that any type of arm will go as low as necessary (quite important on these decks). All the fixings are from underneath, so invisible once fitted. Have a look in our gallery for some more pictures.
This photo shows a silver Jelco armboard with one of the last ‘knife edge’ Jelco TK-850S tonearms fitted. The machining and finish is to the same luxurious standard as our improved Jelco collars. We have tried to re-create some really nice design details from the original Technics arm surround, such as the tiny square step at the outer edge.
Retail pricing is £205 including VAT and UK delivery for an armboard package to suit the SL-1200 Mk2, Mk5 as well as the new SL-1200GAE and SL-1200G. The new SL-1200GR requires some additional parts so the price is £220. So, this is not a cheap option for Technics owners wishing to upgrade their SL-1200 decks, but we’re confident that it will be the smartest and best sounding arm board available for SL-1200s, both old and new. For international sales, postage does vary depending on country, and for countries outside the UK, the 20% VAT does not apply, and is automatically deducted at the webshop checkout.
