Ortofon SPU GTX Review
The Ortofon SPU GTX E has been reviewed in HiFi Choice magazine and you can read it here
The SPU GTX cartridges feature integrated step up transformers, so they should be used with a Moving Magnet input phono stage. These are true SPUs with a sonic and musical intensity that eludes most modern cartridges. As the review notes, they are not state-of-the-art cartridges in terms of resolution, but they charm with tonal colour and sheer joie de vivre.
Considering how much a good MC step up transformer costs, the Ortofon SPU GTX cartridges offer rather good value. We like them very much indeed!
