GrooveMaster III stainless steel SME pattern sliding base, suitable for all GrooveMaster tonearms, including Timestep variants and the new GrooveMaster 4.
The original Groovemaster SME style sliding base was made from aluminium alloy, and while functional was not particularly secure when locked in place. This newly redesigned sliding base for the GrooveMaster III is CNC machined from high quality stainless steel CNC, and is much easier to adjust and much more secure in holding the arm in position; in fact it’s now as solid as a rock as well as lending the tonearm some additional mass in the mounting, which does improve resolution and sound quality.
Please note that the pillar height adjustment screw is a grub screw, and not the thumbscrew shown – the conventional grub screw is a far more ergonomic and successful choice!

GrooveMaster III Stainless Steel Sliding Base. This newly redesigned sliding base for the GrooveMaster III is a high quality stainless steel CNC machined replacement for the old aluminium alloy base, which was pretty but not very easy to use and did not always give a secure mounting for the arm. The brass sleeve connecting the GrooveMaster is nickel plated. Both materials together with the high mass minimise micro resonances. The unique wedge-shaped construction ensures a quick and play-free adjustment – a huge improvement over the old aluminium SME base. Please note that the pillar height adjustment screw is a grub screw, and not the thumbscrew shown. The GrooveMaster sliding base fits the standard SME mounting pattern. Available in one colour (natural bead blasted stainless steel) only.
