GrooveMaster Rotary VTA Lift

The RotaryLift is a high-quality VTA lift developed especially for GrooveMaster tonearms, allowing VTA to be adjusted while playing via a delightfully smooth and responsive mechanism. The materials are stainless steel and brass, materials that neutralise each other’s resonance. Together with the high mass of the lift, this ensures an improvement in the sound. The lift is mounted under the turntable by means of a heavy nut or through the screw holes, which are exactly made to Jelco measurements and compatible with the Jelco version of our Ammonite Audio SL-1200 armboard but only when used with a GrooveMaster tonearm having pivot-spindle distance of 214mm. Description
The GrooveMaster Rotary VTA Lift is developed especially for GrooveMaster tonearms, all versions including Timestep variants, allowing VTA to be adjusted while playing, with adjustment range of 9mm. The materials are stainless steel and brass, materials that neutralise each other’s resonance. Together with the high mass of the lift, this ensures an improvement in the sound. The lift is mounted under the turntable by means of a heavy nut or through the screw holes, which are exactly made to Jelco measurements.
Technics SL-1200 Compatibility Notes. The GrooveMaster Rotary VTA Lift is compatible with our Modular Machined SL-1200 armboard, but only for the 9″ 214mm pivot-spindle version of the GrooveMaster tonearms, using the Jelco centre plate. Be aware that the VTA Lift is 18.5mm tall, so 6.5mm taller than our Ammonite Audio GrooveMaster collar: for pretty much every turntable that’s no problem, but while the VTA Lift does fit in our Technics SL-1200 armboards, , its minimum height does extend above the level of the turntable’s top plate, and with SL-1200 decks the relatively slim platter height against the top plate often causes difficulties with setting the arm low enough for all cartridge types, even with the stock tonearm. This means that, with some relatively shallow height cartridges, it might not be possible to adjust a GrooveMaster arm low enough while using the VTA Lift to achieve correct VTA; however our regular mounting collar will be fine in all situations. We say ‘might’ because with taller cartridges the arm should still be adjustable with the VTA Lift for correct VTA.
